One of our biggest problems we have noticed in starting this company, is that we just have too many darned ideas and not enough time! Do you ever feel that way?
With the past several months we busied every free moment working on the Holy Cow! brand we have now launched and on it’s way.
As we did all this work on the Holy Cow branding, I had many ideas for what we should do with the existing or “original idea” we had with Livraison.US. We like to create different lines ( or “brands”) of journals because we know that nobody all likes the same exact type of noteboook.
We scored some Designer Goat materials on a recent road trip up North, and we have had an abundance of nice cover materials we have wanted to use lately, so this weekend we got busy and here’s a few of the new items now going up at our LIVRAISON.US ETSY Shop.
We have done some custom work with the great folks over at Vahallan and had some leftover materials we purchased at their fundraiser last fall. They are one of the premier makers of hand painted wall papers, and also located right here in Lincoln NE! We custom designed 100 blank journals last year for them to hand out a trade show . The cover utilized some of their hand made wall paper. Then we followed up earlier this year with a run of 200 custom mini-catalogs using the same wiro bound style. That’s where we fell in love with their rich looking, super cool materials. I finally had a weekend free to get working on some fancy designs using their materials.
The Journal above is 6.25″ W x 8.75″ H and features and elastic closure with an expandable pouch in the inside back. Along with that, there are 2 loops to hold a fancy writing pen or paintbrush. The face edge pages of the book are “rough cut” see picture above. The rough cut pages give this journal a Shakespearean/Old World type feel to it. Not to sound sexist, because this I feel this book can appeal to anyone, but everyone we showed these to this weekend felt this was more of a journal gift suited to a man. This is certainly a Livraiosn. US One of a Kind journal.
Next up is another journal using fancy White wallpaper material from Vahallan, with the other special dark grey designer goat material we had just picked up from Argentina. The materials on this worked together wonderfully and the special end sheet papers really set this off. This one certainly has a more feminine feel to it with the choice of colors and treatment. We can customize these with foil stamp monogram lettering. (we’d recommend silver foil on this one).
We have several more of the designer goat/fancy journals done, but not photographed yet. They are all decked out with custom end sheets, elastic closures and an expandable back pouch on the inside back cover to keep all your extra odd’s and ends, with pen loop holders to hold a fancy fountain pen or paintbrush. Each one uses different cover materials for the front and back covers. We will put them up here one by one as we have more time to post.
We’ll leave you with one more fun journal idea!
