What’s your Favorite Color?
I love asking this to my friends. Once I know, I can put together a special blank journal just exactly to their liking.
Here’s a couple examples from this week:
Favorite colors: Purple/Aubergine and Emerald
Aubergine (or Eggplant color) was selected for the spine section of this purse size journal using a smooth finish designer goatskin, (imported dyed leather from Italy, and a bright Emerald color Lotka Paper (handmade paper from India) with an expandable back pouch with side vents constructed from a purple book cloth. End sheet paper used was a tree free banana paper imported from Costa Rica, and paper was a soft powder blue laid finish writing paper. Bright Purple ribbon marker and specially die light purple elastic closure. Name was blind embossed on front.
Favorite Colors: Black, turquoise, seafoam green, pink
The inside pages started with a smaller than normal page count, and the face trim was not done, so I left it on for a ‘rough cut finish” and a nice large size for illustrations or writing. The “seafoam green” request was exciting, because we had this special greenish handpainted wallpaper remnant (made by Vallhallan Paper, Lincoln NE) and combined with the pink designer goatskin spine section ( from Italy), black endsheets and 70 lb Rolland natural writing text paper ( 50% PCW). Used a velour pink ribbon and an extra skinny black marker ribbons. The back expandable pouch used a pick Pearl linen bookcloth for side vents.
